Modernizing Education

Almost every country struggles with the quality of their public education programs. On continents such as Africa, one of the main issues is the distance separating the students from the schools. Even in America, trying to find new ways to connect students to resources is a struggle. More and more educators are turning to telecommunication technology to provide solutions. Telecommunication allows educators to provide resources and learning material over a variety of platforms such as computers, mobile phones and televisions. While proving to be a tool that can reach students wherever they may be, one of the issues of relying on telecommunication for education is the lack of teacher/student interaction. The other problem developers encounter is the cost of the technology. It may be economical for a district to develop a telecommunication program but providing students with devices to access the program is out of the reach of many budgets.
